Our Story

Back in 2015, when I was just 18 years old, I started my own lawn care and landscaping business alongside my full-time job in law enforcement. At that time, I had a 14’ trailer, a Stihl weed eater, and a blower, but I couldn't afford to buy a zero-turn mower, so I struck a deal with my grandpa to use his in exchange for mowing his lawn… And that’s how it all began!

I had 5 regular clients in my first year of business. I slowly began advertising my business on Facebook, and in my second year, I expanded my route to include another 5 clients. By year three, I had 30 weekly accounts and started offering basic landscaping services. It was around this time that I was finally able to save up enough money to purchase my first Exmark stand-on mower. I hired a friend and my dad, who both also worked in law enforcement, to help out on our days off. Then, as people began noticing the quality of our work, more calls started coming in.

In year 4, we purchased our second Exmark mower and started taking on more landscaping projects while still maintaining our 30 mowing accounts. By 2020, our fifth year in business, my dad approached me about buying into the business, and we became partners. We both still had full-time jobs; I was still in law enforcement, and he was in the trailer factory. However, we decided to purchase our second trailer and first work truck with a plow, and the requests for work continued pouring in. We worked tirelessly, sacrificing time with our families to make the business a success.

In 2022, we finally made the decision to make the business our full-time gig. My dad quit his job in the trailer factory, and we hired our first full-time employee in April. I continued working full-time at the sheriff's department as we weren't sure if we could afford both of us working full-time in the business. We expanded to around 80 weekly mowing accounts, and by May, we had hired our second full-time employee to keep up with the demand. In June, we hired our third full-time employee, and we were off to the races! We couldn't keep up with the amount of work coming in, and by September, I quit my job in law enforcement to devote all my time to the business.

We had grown so much by then; we had two mowing crews and a landscape crew, and we were continuing to expand every day. We ended the year mowing 80 weekly accounts, taking care of a 35-acre school, and completing countless landscaping projects. In 2023, we now have nine full-time employees, three mowing crews, and two landscaping crews. We’re proud to say that we're now the leading lawn care and landscaping company in St. Joseph County!

Looking to the future, we're excited to announce that we're building a new 6,000 square foot building and store that will be the new home for our new landscape supply company. We've already partnered with some of the largest and most well-known landscape block companies in the United States and will be selling high-quality products that won't break like the cheaply made products found at big-box stores. Additionally, we'll be selling landscaping materials such as mulch, stone, boulders, topsoil, sand, and compost. In our store, we'll also have grass seed, fertilizer, sprinkler systems, outdoor landscape lighting, and much more.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our employees who are the backbone of our company. We are also so extremely grateful for our wonderful clients. We're incredibly proud of the company we've built, and we're excited about what the future holds.
